Stick Door from Jaisalmer - 19th Century Margin Scheme 150 x 38 x 80This stick door dates to 19th century India. They were used by the desert dwelling tribes of Western Rajasthan in their buildings which were made of mud and clay. Wood is very scarce in the desert & doors, windows and furniture were made of sticks harvested from the Kair tree (Capparis decidua). The sticks are then riveted together with iron fittings.
