It was likely the entrance to a village temple in Kutch. The beautifully subtle colours of the paint are the original mineral colours and there is intricate chip carving across the mihrab panels and pillars. The carving on the top frieze shows a pair of peacocks, the elegant pillars are Mughal style. The chip carving is typical of the Kutchi
