This long 5 drawer console table is made from reclaimed wood which is salvaged from old buildings in Rajasthan and Gujarat
It's been well used but also cared for so it does show modest signs of wear as well as slight fading at one end most likely due to prolonged sunlight exposure
The pole hangers (saodoshi) are concealed and not covered by a metal plate showing this as an earlier piece

Carrying handles allowed these chests to be stored in outhouses when not in use

The painting and heavy brass fittings are all original. The outline of a brass locking plate can be clearly seen in the center of the cabinet, this would have been secured with a padlock. The front of the cabinet is decorated with painted household objects such as a go board, vases, books, scrolls, an incense burner, and a running dog pattern.
