St. Lucia Original map by Jacques Bellin, 1781 Holy Land Jodocus Hondius was a prominentOriginal map of the island of Saint Lucia in the Lesser Antilles by Jacques Nicolas Bellin. Map is intricately engraved to show topographical details, place names, a road that runs the length of the island to the town of Soufriere, and the minute coastal detail for which Bellin is renowned. It is nicely decorated with a rococo style cartouche. A small fleur de lis orients north to the left. The map also appeared in Gazetto Americano (1781).
