Colima Terracotta Flat Figure - Standing Female Northwest art ‘Haida Night Journey’ By GuyPre Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand built pottery female figure standing atop delineated legs and holding her hands together above an incised loincloth. Her minimalist visage is composed of coffee bean shaped eyes, a prominent nose, and full lips beneath a centrally parted coiffure. Red pigment adorns her necklace, eyes, and hair, and suggests that the figure was at one time painted with vivid color.
