I suspect this is a 20th Century version not from the 19th Century

It remains in excellent unused condition

both near the top corners

The early 20th century maker is unknown but is good solid quality work. It measures 5 1 4" square and 3" thick and would look great sitting on a shelf, holding up some books or even out on the patio or garden. These were made to hold up to the elements. It has a few surface chips giving it some character.
